BRAIN TIME ► https://goo.gl/tTWgH2 Over thousands of years, our planet has been inhabited by many different animals. Some of the species have survived to this day, but some, unfortunately, are considered to be extinct. However, this doesn’t mean that we will never have the opportunity to see a mammoth or scratch the ear of a saber-toothed cat, because science is developing, and very soon scientists will learn how to bring disappeared species back to life. Do you want to take a look at the future inhabitants of this "Jurassic Park"?

10 strange and amazing animals that you have probably never heard of. Nature is truly full of surprises! We live in the twenty-first century, and all continents have already been discovered, all secrets of our planet revealed, all mountain peaks conquered. Just when you think you have seen it all, some new bizarre creature makes an appearance instantly restoring your faith in the impossible! TIMESTAMPS Mangalitsa Pig, a.k.a. “a pig in sheep’s clothing” 0:50 Rhinopithecus or golden snub-nosed monkey 1:33 Emperor tamarin 2:13 Patagonian Mara 3:04 Fluffy cow 3:52 Markhor Goat 4:44 Raccoon dog 5:23 Blue Footed Booby 6:25 Malayan Colugo 7:13 Venezuelan Poodle Moth 8:09 BONUS 8:56 SUMMARY - The birthplace of this curly-haired pig is Hungary where it was discovered in the mid-19th century. Due to the fleece covering this animal, it resembles a sheep, therefore, such a name! - The name of this species is roxellana, and there is a story behind it. It is believed that they were called this way after the supposedly snub-nosed courtesan of Suleiman the Magnificent (a 16th century Sultan of the Ottoman Empire). - They were called like this because of the resemblance of their mustache to that of German Emperor Wilhelm II. - Patagonia Mara is the fourth largest rodent on our planet. There are several interesting facts about them. Females often put offsprings into crèches for safety. - Fluffy cows are looked after by people whose work is to wash, dry and use products to style these animals, so they look as fluffy as they do! It is necessary to maintain them daily, and it will take months of regular grooming until they get this lovely look of kids toys. - If you see a creature which looks as if it’s trying to catch an alien radio signal from space, it’s most likely Markhor Goat. They can grow as long as 6 ft from head to tail! - If you can’t decide if you want to have a dog or a raccoon as a pet, we have just the thing for you - raccoon dog! Despite having raccoon-like markings on their fur, they are not very closely related to the North American raccoon. - Blue Footed Booby are to catch your eye if you ever visit the Galapagos Islands. They can look a bit clumsy and comical on land, but they are excellent at flying and swimming. - Colugo has a large gliding membrane (like a flying squirrel), and they can glide for long distances between trees standing far apart. - Even if the Poodle Moth may look as if it lives in Antarctica with all this fur, in fact, it comes from Venezuela, a tropical country. Its hairs don’t serve for heating. BONUS Cloud Antelope! This species lives in the clouds (that’s why such a name)! Its bright blue fur is the reflection of cloudless blue skies in the area of its habitat. Its diet consists of sun rays and candies... Did you know that pigeons have better vision than us? Have you ever wondered how animals and birds actually see the world? What do fish see when they look at us? This video will explain all these to the smallest details! TIMESTAMPS Snakes 0:20 Cows 0:35 Horses 0:53 Fish 1:12 Birds 1:32 Eagle 1:50 Pigeon 2:01 Sparrow 2:10 Insects 2:17 Bee 2:32 Rats 2:41 Cats 2:53 Dogs 3:13 Frogs 3:25 Chameleons 3:43 SUMMARY - Vision of snakes differs the most from ours – they sense thermal signatures. Due to the infrared-sensitive receptors on their snouts, some snakes can ‘see’ the radiated heat of warm-blooded mammals. - Cows don’t see colors as clearly as human. You’ve probably never heard about this: they see the world in a red-orange color scheme. - There is a blind spot where horses can’t see at all – directly in front of their faces. This is because of their eye location. Also, horses don't see as many colors as we do. - Fish eyes have ultraviolet receptors and a more spherical lens than we have. They see the world in green, red, and blue colors, but can’t see red and blue. Deep sea fish can easily see in the dark. - As for birds, they have something similar in their vision – unlike humans, birds can see ultraviolet light. Thanks to the structure of their eyes, they can focus on certain places. - Flies have thousands of individual visual receptors that collectively create a broad field of vision. Also, they see the world in slow-motion and can see ultraviolet light. Another insect, a bee, has an unusual vision as well. It's a surprising fact but bees can't distinguish red color at all! For them the color red appears to be dark blue. - Rat vision is quite blurry, and they can’t see red. They also see the world in slow-motion. Each eye moves independently so they can have two images of the world. - Cats don't distinguish red and green shades, and their world is made up of brown, yellow, and blue shades. The cat's field of view is broader than ours so they can see more on the sides. -Dogs can’t see red and orange colors, but they clearly see blue and violet, as well as ultraviolet light. Moreover, they are able to differentiate between 40 shades of gray! - Frogs can notice only moving objects. They can literally starve to death in the abundance of food if the food does not move! Frogs can also focus only on certain things, so they don’t concentrate on what they don’t need (for example, shadows). - The eyes of chameleons can rotate in different directions independently, so they have a 360-degree field of vision. They see two images at the same time: one in the front and the other one behind. There are some animals on the endangered species list that we're all familiar with. Tigers, elephants, and polar bears immediately spring to mind when you think of threatened animals that we're trying to save. The reality is there are so many more animals out there that face extinction, and part of the reason we don't know is because we're not exposed to them on a regular basis. British photographer Tim Flach decided to take on this challenge in his new collection Endangered. He spent two years traveling the world and taking portraits of the animals that may soon be extinct, and they're totally stunning. The Yunnan snub-nosed monkey was thought to be extinct until it was rediscovered in 1962. It lives in the mountains and is revered by the Chinese people. There were less than 2,000 left in the wild in 2006. Bengal tigers are primarily found in India, where the government is working to protect them from habitat loss and poaching. The current population stands at less than 2,500, and the population continues to trend downward. The Shoebill is a stork-like bird that exists in only a few countries in Africa. With less than 3,500 individuals taking up a small habitat, their vulnerable status is clear. Having only one location and population makes a species less likely to survive if faced with disease or famine. The saiga looks like an alien species, but it's an antelope whose range used to span southern Europe all the way through central Asia. Now, there are just four populations: one in Russia and three in Kazakhstan. There are around 18,000 adult saiga, but there used to be millions, making this species critically endangered. Yellow-eyed tree frogs face climate change and the pet trade as their biggest challenges. They persist in fragmented habitats, and the exact number is unknown. Hyacinth macaws also face a huge decrease in number thanks to the pet trade, but it's also threatened by modern farming practices. There are 4,300 mature individuals left in the wild. As for some good news, just yesterday the snow leopard was taken off of the endangered species list. While the elusive big cat is still extremely threatened and faces challenges, their numbers have grown thanks to conservation efforts and awareness through campaigns like Flach's. If you want to see more beautiful animal portraits and follow the important work Tim Flach is doing, you can find him on his website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. By raising awareness about the plight of these endangered animals, perhaps we can work together to save them. How do you recognize something that you can touch and something you have to run away from as fast as possible? Here is a list of the most dangerous sea creatures you can meet and how to recognize them! There are so many different species living in the ocean! Some of them are beautiful, some are deadly, and some are both. TIMESTAMPS Fire Coral 0:40 Flower Urchin 1:20 Cone Snail 1:50 Portuguese Man-of-War 2:32 Snea snakes 3:54 Lionfish 4:51 Chironex 5:39 Surgeonfish 6:15 Indonesian needlefish 6:59 Triggerfish 7:34 SUMMARY - Fire Coral. These small organisms can sting, and the effect can be not very serious and it can be quite bad. A stung person may have severe pains, feel nauseated and even vomit, which is not the best thing to do when you are underwater. - Flower Urchin is both very beautiful and very deadly. It contains toxins that can cause anaphylactic shock, convulsions and finally death. You can get poisoned if you step on it when you are in the sea or the ocean. - Scientists say that just one drop of the cone snail’s poison is enough to kill 20 people! Just one drop! - The most mind-blowing fact about Man-of-War is that technically we should call it Men-of-War, and refer to it not as «it», but «they», and here is why: it’s an animal that is made up of a colony of organisms cooperating together. Man-of-war has tentacles that can be 30 feet long, which it uses to paralyze and kill fish and other small creatures. - Sea snakes are much more venomous than their land-living friends. As it turns out, they have to be like that because they hunt fish, so what they need to do is immobilize their prey very quickly not to let it escape. - Many people call the lionfish the most beautiful sea creature in the world. You can find them in the Caribbean and Eastern Atlantic. Lionfishes are not deadly — they do have a venom, but it’s not lethal. However, the pain you will experience if you get stung is so severe that people say you might wish you were dead. - Chironex doesn’t have any teeth, but it’s dangerous as hell. If a person gets stung, they will have excruciating pain, red inflammation in the stung area and heart dysfunction. - Surgeonfish are easily spooked, so you should be extra careful if you see one of them. Don’t make any unexpected fast moves. The good news is, surgeonfish are not aggressive unless, of course, you provoke them. - Indonesian needlefish live in tropical and subtropical waters of the oceans. They, as the name suggests, have a very sharp, needle-like beak, and they are especially dangerous when they hurl themselves out of the water. - Triggerfish is mostly friendly, but only until you are a threat to its nest. The most dangerous are females — if you approach its nest even accidentally, it will bite you. Thankfully, the bites aren’t poisonous, but triggerfish have extremely sharp teeth, so the injuries it can cause need serious medical attention. There are so many different animals in the world that nobody even knows the exact number of existing species. Here are 12 strange animals that you should run from as fast as you can if you ever encounter them in the wild. It’s not very big, but it’s very hairy. You might think that because it’s hairy, it’s tender to touch, but don’t let it fool you. In fact, if you touch the hairs, they will penetrate your skin and sting you. According to the experience of other people, the pain is unimaginably bad, so stay away from this caterpillar if you can. However, if you got stung, doctors recommend washing the area of the bite. Use water and soap, but be very careful not to press the spot — because this will make the poison spread faster. After you finish washing the bite, put some ice to reduce the pain. If the pain doesn’t go away within the next 30 minutes or so, go to the hospital immediately. Check out these animals found frozen in ice! This top 10 list of amazing animals discoveries has some ancient animals that were frozen in time for eternity! 10. The Yuka Mammoth The Yuka mammoth is one of the most well known and scientifically valuable animals that have ever been found. It was discovered in 2010 within the Siberian permafrost on the coast of the Laptev Sea in Russia. The most unusual thing about this 39,000-year-old mammoth was that it was mummified, and had the most in-tact mammoth brain ever found, with folds and blood vessels still visible. Finding specimens like this is incredibly helpful to understanding the species. Studies of the brain showed it to be very similar to modern day elephants, and also led to researchers to developing better ways of storing mammoths in the future when new ones are found. Along with the Yuka mammoth, a number of other ones have been found in the region, although not in as good condition, and have been highly sought after by researchers for a different purpose. Because of their relatively intact DNA, and their status as an intriguing extinct animal that is very similar to some that exist today, the mammoth is a great candidate for bringing a species back from extinction using cutting edge technology. It is believed that with a bit of luck and perseverance, we might once again see these giants alive and well, and maybe within just a few years! I would definitely love to see that! 9. Moose It’s rare enough to find an animal preserved in ice, but rarer still is the apparent freezing of two animals when they’re interacting with each other. Well this is what a couple of hikers found in Alaska in 2016. Beneath 8 inches of ice was the stunning sight of two moose fighting each other, clearly so engrossed in their tussle that they failed to notice the approaching frost. In the fall, males tend to be more aggressive towards each other, likely due to territorial disputes or to gain the attention of a female, and at some point these two managed to get their antlers tangled. They probably drowned in the cold water before being frozen over as temperatures fell. Soon after their discovery, the moose were removed from the ice by local enthusiasts who wanted to preserve the unusual find forever. 8. Fish As a fish living in water, ice can be both a blessing and a curse. It’s the unique property of ice floating on top of water that helps to insulate warmth and allow fish to survive falling temperatures, but they aren’t always so lucky. In 2014, a sharp cold eastern wind sent temperatures plummeting very quickly around the island of Lovund in Norway, and instantly froze parts of the ocean. Unfortunately for a large shoal of fish, thought to be attempting to escape a predator at the time, there was no chance to avoid the approaching ice, and they were frozen in place. The ice sheet was so thick that it was perfectly safe for people to walk across, and capture these amazing images of thousands of fish frozen in time. This event had a major impact on the local ecosystem, because birds were unable to find any food, so the skies were strangely silent until the ice finally thawed. 7. Yukagir Bison Siberia is one of the coldest places on earth that has been regularly inhabited for millennia. This makes it the perfect place to find frozen animals like the Yuka mammoth, and close by there was another discovery in 2011, the mummified remains of a Steppe Bison- the ancestor to the modern bison. Discovered by a tribe in the Yana-Indigirka Lowland, the bison was remarkably intact, with its brain and other organs almost perfectly preserved. This is the most complete Steppe Bison ever to be found, and has allowed researchers to extensively study its brain, heart, digestive system and blood vessels, despite it being well over 9000 years old. With no visible signs of injury, it is thought that the lack of body fat around its abdomen is a clue as to how it died. Most likely from starvation as a result of the rapidly changing environment in the area at the time. 6. Selerikan Pony In 1968, gold miners digging tunnels, about 30 feet below the surface of the Indigirka River in Siberia, found something surprising- two legs and a tail of a pony sticking through the roof of one of their tunnels. Experts were called in from the Zoological institute of St. Petersburg to help recover the full animal, which they managed to do, apart from its head. The body turned out to be of a Przewalski (prez walski) Horse, that nowadays is only found in Mongolia, and amazingly this one appeared to have died about 35,000 years ago. Analysis of the remains suggested that the horses lived relatively similar then to how they still do today. Ocean Quahog The Ocean Quahog, or Arctica Islandica, is a large bivalve that grows up to ten centimeters tall. Large populations can be found in the ocean waters around Iceland, but they live buried beneath the sea bed all across the Atlantic Ocean. They hold the record for being the longest known living creatures on our planet, with one specimen that was caught in 2006 thought to be about 507 years old. This means it would have been born in 1499. Despite their longevity, the Ocean Quahog has been put on the list of at-risk species of the North-East Atlantic Ocean because numbers have been plummeting. This has happened due to extensive fishing to send to the USA for the manufacture of clam chowder soup, increased pollution of the seas by plastic and chemical waste, and the destruction of their habitats by deep sea dredge fishing. 9. The Vaquita The Vaquita, a small species of porpoise, was only first discovered in 1958- but today finds itself as being the world’s rarest marine mammal and on the brink of extinction. They are native to the Gulf of California off the coast of Mexico, where large numbers used to gather, but numbers have severely fallen because of human activity in the area. A study in 1997 estimated a population in the region of only 600, but this fell to 100 in a similar survey in 2014 and most recently, in 2016, the total number is though to be around 30. That’s a population decline of over 92 percent since 1997, and means this glorious creature sadly doesn’t have much time left. Unlike other animals that are facing extinction because of hunting, the loss of Vaquita’s is mainly as a by-product of the fishing of an endangered fish called the Totoaba. This large, 300 pound fish is highly sought after for its swim bladder that is popular in Chinese medicine and, as a result, commands a high price. The gillnets that are used to catch the Totoaba also traps large numbers of Vaquita and has been the single most destructive factor towards Vaquita numbers. Despite the Mexican governments attempts to limit the fishing of the Totoaba for this reason, even banning the use of gillnets in 2015 for two years and setting up wildlife refuges, the porpoise has not been able to recover because there are still lots of trawlers using the nets illegally. 8. Javan Rhinoceros Rhinos are one of the more famous animals of the world that are endangered, but rather than the more well-known white and black Rhinos from Africa, the most at-risk type of the five different species is the Javan Rhinoceros. They used to be prevalent across south east Asia, but with the last Javan Rhino of Vietnam having been poached in 2010, the only known remaining ones all live in the Ujung Kulon National Park in Java, Indonesia. They are very similar in appearance to the closely related “Greater One-Horned Rhino” and are a dusky grey color with one horn that grows up to about ten inches long. The loose folds of their skin make them look like they have armor plating, and they are thought to live for between thirty and forty years. With only around 60 of these Rhinos left in the wild, and none in captivity, their future survival depends on the ability of park rangers to protect them from the threat of poachers- who hunt them for their valuable horns that are a valuable commodity across the region for their supposed medicinal properties.

10 Most Insane Rare Animals You Won't Believe Exist ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are about 8.7 million discovered species of animals in the world with many more being discovered every day. Some of these animals are well known and we see a lot of them every day such as our domestic dogs and cats and other pets we keep as companions. But in that big list of species are animals that are so rare that some people have never seen them before, and some creatures are becoming extinct due to humans. You might be surprised that some of these creatures exist at all because they are so unique, but we put together 10 rarest animals in the world for your enjoyment. But before we start, don’t forget to subscribe to our channel and turn on notifications and you'll be the first to know when a new video comes out. Let’s get started. 10. Hydromedusa Jellyfish – Deep in the Mariana Trench exists some amazing creatures never seen before by humans until recently. This jellyfish surprised marine biologists and you might notice that it looks somewhat like an alien spacecraft. 9. Sumatran Rhino – When you first see this creature, it really doesn’t resemble the rhino that everyone is familiar with such as the now extinct western black rhino, or the soon to be extinct white rhino with only two females left in the world. 8. Rafetus Turtle – Also known as the Yangtze giant softshell turtle, there were only 3 known Yangtze turtles left on the Earth when in May 2017 one of the last remaining 4 died. These turtles are also called Red River Turtles. It is one of the most critically endangered species in the world and is the largest soft-shelled turtle in the world. 7. Pygmy Three-toed Sloth - The pygmy three-toed sloth is the smallest of the three-toed sloths. It can only be found on the Isla Escudo de Veraguas. Famous for its slow movements, the pygmy three-toed sloth is ideally suited to life in the mangroves and is surprisingly good at swimming. The major threat to the pygmy three-toed sloth is habitat destruction. 6. Gooty or Metallic Tarantula – This spider is not only beautiful, but it is so rare that the only place it has ever been found is Nandyal-Giddalur road in Andhra Pradesh. That’s right, it’s habitat is a road. It was first discovered in a timber pile in Gooty where it picked up its name. It would be another 100 years until it was discovered again in the wild. 5. Angel Shark – Angel Sharks are interesting creatures and some people might actually confuse them as stingrays because they exhibit the same behavior by burying themselves under the sand which camouflages them from predators. They are a rare and unique species of shark, and when they are swimming you can clearly make out their shark shaped fins which they lay flat when hiding in the sand. 4. Elephant Shrew – This creature can only be found in Africa. And of course, the reason they are called the Elephant Shrew is that of their rather long and flexible noses which look a lot like an elephant’s trunk which they can twist and turn when searching for prey such as insects, earthworms, spiders, insects, centipedes, and millipedes. 3. Ploughshare Tortoise – When it comes to one of the most beautiful looking tortoises in the world, then the Ploughshare Tortoise is probably somewhere high up on that list. The golden-domed ploughshare tortoise lives at a single remote site in Madagascar. But due to illegal poaching, it is the most threatened tortoise on the planet. 2. Snub-Nosed Monkey – The Snub-Nosed Monkey is a very odd looking creature which has an almost alien-like appearance because it looks like its missing its nose. The monkey is mostly black with some white fur on its ear tufts, and their tails are one and a half times as long as their body. 1. Giant Squid – The interesting thing about this creature is that it’s so rare that before it was first seen in 2004 by Japanese scientists, no one thought that the creature even existed. Of course, there are many stories about giant squids attacking ships and boats, but no one had ever seen one in real life. Good Video - https://youtu.be/eOXkUrhclcc

Rottweiler With Vitiligo Usually if you see a rottweiler you’re worried it’s going to bite your head off. Unless you are familiar with them or see these markings. Here’s something you don’t see everyday… a rottweiler that makes you go “awww”! If you’ve never seen a dog with vitiligo before that’s not surprising. The condition only affects 1 out of a hundred puppies. Vitiligo means there’s a lack of pigment being produced in the animal’s skin. The weird thing is we don’t really know why it happens and can only make an educated guess. Scientists believe the root of the problem lies in the immune system. It can caused by a viral infection or an autoimmune disorders. In dogs vitiligo can be found on Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Dachshunds and Old English Sheepdogs. There’s no treatment but don’t worry about this little fella, or should we say big fella! He doesn’t suffer any pain from vitiligo but he can get itchy from it. If you think that sounds uncomfortable than be aware that the condition affects humans too! 9. Venus the Cat Check out Venus. A lot of cats have a major social media presence but this one has a bigger profile than most. She has 1.4 million followers!! And for good reason, she’s two different colors and has very striking markings! The color of her fur is split down the middle like something out of an artist’s imagination, Two-Faced from Batman anyone? Her eyes are also two different colors… one is blue, the other orange! Venus has what’s called “mosaicism” which means her chromosomes aren’t expressing her genes in the regular way. It’s almost like her DNA is trying to show us two cats at the same time! Some think she’s a chimera cat but this has been debunked by scientists. A chimera is an animal made up of two embryos that fuse together very early on creating one organism. Another famous instagram cat is Quimera who has 71,000 followers. Scientists think that these two-faced cats are striking examples of calico cats and it just so happens their colors are divided right down the middle. 8. Strawberry Leopard Leopards are one of nature’s most effective predators. But we can’t help but think this guy’s rep has taken a bit of a dent thanks to his unusual coloring. His coloring doesn’t really help him blend into his surroundings!! The strawberry leopard was spotted… sorry about the joke… in South Africa in 2012. First reported by National Geographic, he’s already good looking enough as it is, but what’s fascinated experts is the pink tinge or hue to his fur. It’s believed he has something called erythrism. Erythrism is what happens when the pigmentation in the skin changes for whatever reason. He either has too much red or too little dark pigment. No-one’s sure which! What is definite is that he is extremely unique. Nothing like this has been captured on camera before. There are drawbacks of course to being the prettiest kitty on the reserve. The strawberry leopard can still camouflage himself but his distinctive markings make him a prime target for human hunters. Let’s hope this amazing creature doesn’t wind up as a trophy over someone’s fireplace! You know how people are... Origins Explained is the place to be to find all the answers to your questions, from mysterious events and unsolved mysteries to everything there is to know about the world and its amazing animals!

Gorilla and Kittens You might be familiar with Koko the Gorilla because of her famous friendship with actor and comedian Robin Williams. She’s well known for her role in language research and is the subject of many children’s books. Koko is able to communicate through sign language using over 1,000 words and can understand around 2,000 spoken words. She was born in 1971 and has been working with animal psychologist Penny Patterson since she was very young. She surprised everyone when she used her language skills to ask for something surprising: a kitten! Her caretakers, thinking she wouldn’t know the difference, gave her a stuffed kitten. Gorillas are incredibly strong animals and they were worried that Koko would hurt a kitten by accident. However, she did know the difference and signed the word “sad” when they tried to give her the stuffed animal. Like, you know what I’m saying but you are ignoring me! They decided to give it a try and Patterson brought her to a kitten and carefully supervised the interactions. Koko named the kitty “All Ball”. To everyone’s surprise, she showed extreme care when playing with All Ball. She was gentle, loving, and patient. She also tried to use All Ball as a convenient scapegoat. When Koko ripped a sink from the wall, she tried to blame it on the cat! The story about a gorilla asking for a pet kitten broke the news all over the world. One day, though, All Ball escaped Koko’s enclosure and was hit by a car. Her caretakers were forced to break the news and Koko signed “bad”, “cry”, “sad”, and “frown” over and over. Gorillas can’t cry like humans and this was the only way she could express her grief. Over the years, Koko has had several pet cats and continues to raise awareness to save gorillas. 10. Cat and a Squirrel Cats who have recently given birth are known for their strong mothering instinct. That can turn even the most fearsome hunter into a loving parent. Shortly after giving birth to a litter, Emmy the cat found a baby squirrel in her owner’s yard, or her yard, depending on how you want to look at it. Squirrels are usually prey to cats and don’t stand much of a chance. However, perhaps due to a mix of hormones and the baby squirrel’s noises of distress, Emmy decided to adopt the squirrel rather than eat it. Maybe she was just a very nice cat! Emmy’s owner could no longer take care of her and her children. They were passed on to new owners and the strange addition was named “Rocky”. Rocky became so integrated into his new family that he even learned how to purr just like a cat. 9. The Fox and the Hound The Disney version of The Fox and the Hound is one of the saddest movies I’ve ever seen, I couldn’t even watch it as a kid because just thinking about it made me start crying. The good news is that there is a real life version of this story that has a much better ending! A Norwegian photographer named Torgeir Berge owns a German Shepherd named Tinni. One day, the pair were walking through the woods near Berge’s home when they found an orphaned baby fox. Berge allowed Tinny to play with the fox, who Berge named Sniffer. The pair spent the entire day together. When it came time to go, Berge didn’t try to take the fox with him but left him to fend for itself. The fox was old enough to survive on its own and Berge didn’t know hot to take care of a wild fox. Which just as a side not, you shouldn’t take wild animals home with you either... The friendship born on that day remained and when Berge would take Tinni out for walks, Sniffer the fox would come and they would spend hours playing together. Berge took beautiful photos of the friendship in order to raise awareness and denounce the killing of foxes for their fur. 8. Pig and a Lamb Rescued from a factory farm, Edgar Allen Pig lived on a farm sanctuary in Australia. In fact, he’s the namesake of the sanctuary, which is called Edgar’s Mission. The owner of Edgar’s Mission taught Edgar how to walk on a leash so that he could better serve as an ambassador and draw attention to the inhumane treatment of farm animals. Not many people had seen a pig walking on a leash in Australia! It wasn’t long after his arrival that Edgar showed a talent one wouldn’t assign to a pig: he made an excellent foster father. Textile Cone Snail While it may not look like much, these snails possess a neurotoxin powerful enough to easily a human. What’s more they have an effective delivery mechanism for this venom – a tiny harpoon. It is a hollow barb that can be fired in any direction and then reeled back in by the snail. In larger cone snails the harpoon is large and powerful enough to not only penetrate human skin, but gloves or wetsuits too. The textile cone snail is located in Australia, the Indo-Pacific Region and the Indian Ocean. The venom of the cone snail are known as conotoxins and contain various neurotoxic agents. These can be very specific to a certain type of nerve and are being studied intensively. Some cone snail venoms also contain pain-killing properties, which is a nice gesture after they just jabbed you with neurotoxins and you are rapidly due to paralysis of the respiratory system! However, most severe stings begin with intense, localized pain. The onset of life-threatening symptoms can take several days. One species of cone snail is referred to as the “cigarette snail” as if you are stung by one you’ll have just about enough time to smoke one… 8. Cassowary Trust Australia to be home to a bird that can you! Similar to an ostrich, the cassowary is a flightless bird about the size of a tall man. The rely on enormously powerful legs to get them around. While these birds may have a look of giant turkey, the wild, staring eyes should be enough to intimidate you! The Guinness Book of World Records names the cassowary as the most dangerous bird on the planet. Attacking cassowaries will jump on the victim and slash and kick, peck, and head butt. The cassowary’s main weapon is a 12cm-long, dagger-like claw. Armed with this claw, and capable of running at speeds over 40km/h, this is one big bird you do not want to mess with. Which is exactly what two brothers did in 1926. The teenagers attacked the bird with sticks, one was kicked and the other fell to the ground. While on the ground the boy received a kick to the neck which severed his jugular vein. There are also more recent references to the of a zookeeper who was also apparently by a captive cassowary. Just admire these animals from afar, it’s not like you can accidentally step on it so this is an animal that can easily be avoided, even though it could be. 7. Stonefish The lumpy and colorful stonefish are the world’s most venomous fish. As the name suggests the stonefish resembles a lump of rock or coral and is extremely well camouflaged. So good is this camouflage that they are even pretty hard to spot even in aquariums when the tank is labelled. Armed with needle-sharp dorsal spines, they often go unnoticed until someone accidentally steps on one. The spines contain poison sacs that shoot the potent neurotoxin into the foot which is extremely painful and can be. The stonefish sting is so excruciating that victims have been reported to want to even amputate their leg!! The best solution is to apply heat to the area which can start to destroy the venom and then of course an antivenom as soon as possible. In fact this antivenom is the second most frequently administered antivenom in Australia. A sting to the chest or abdomen can easily be fatal. And just because you don’t go in the water, doesn’t mean you are safe either! Stonefish can survive out of the water on the beach for up to 24 hours.
Top 10 Extinct Animals That Will Be Resurrected Soon - From Extinction To Alive Again Over many years our planet has been inhabited by many different animals. Some of these species have survived todays. But some unfortunately are considered to be extinct due to environment changes & some other facts. To successfully clone an extinct animal, scientists need to find animal DNA that is almost entirely intact, so some species such as the woolly mammoth & saber-toothed tiger will make better candidates for resurrection than others. So here are Top 10 Extinct Animals That Will Be Resurrected Soon - From From Extinction To Alive Again If you like my video please like share and comment subscribe to my channel Top10 Videosworld https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo621I_M2ojC6EK6xgZk3XA follow me on twitter http://twitter.com/toptenvideoswo1 #animals #nationalgeographic #prehistoricanimals

Leafy Seadragon Another creature from ocean that is sure to make waves when you realize it's real, is the Leafy Seadragon. A perfect name for it! When you look at it, it looks like a simple piece of seaweed, yet, it's actually alive. The creature was found off the coast of Australia, and is proof that the ocean still holds many secrets. 13. Angora Rabbits What is there to say? This is a rabbit that has so much fur, you honestly can't tell that it's a rabbit. I bet you were expecting something much different when I mentioned "rabbit" in the title, huh? 12. Pangolin There are a lot of weird creatures out in the world, and some of them look like fusions between other animals. One example of this is the Pangolin, a mammal known to roam the lands of Asia and Africa. It's also one of the most trafficked mammals in the world. 11. Komondor Take a look at this breed of dog. Do you think that this breed was made to look like this? You’d think someone spent hours and hours creating dreadlocks in this dogs fur, but nope! This it the Komondor, and that's exactly how it looks without anyone touching it. 10. Axolotl From the weird to the creepy, I present to you the Axolotl. Yes, it really does look like that in real life, that's why it's on this list. 9. Glass Frogs It's incredible the evolutions and adaptations that animals will go through during their lifecycles on this planet. However, you have to question some of them. While the armor of the Pangolin is understandable, this creature’s evolution is a little mysterious. Here we have a frog...that's see-through. 8. The Dumbo Octopus The name isn't referring to these Octopuses being stupid, far from it. They're called this because they have fins near the top of their heads that resemble flappy ears. Just like Dumbo the elephant from the Disney movie. 7. Saiga Antelope From the depths of the ocean to the vastness of Asia, three countries are home to a very curious breed of antelope. It's called the Saiga Antelope, and it’s a pretty strange creature. 6. Pacu Fish Piranha are one of the most dangerous fish in the world, and have sometimes even been considered some of the most dangerous animals in the world. But their cousins, for lack of a better term, are definitely one of the strangest animals in the world. They're called the Pacu fish, and they'll give you nightmares for different reasons. 5. The Mary River Turtle This one not only looks strange, it acts strange. This is the Mary River Turtle. It can be found in Queensland, Australia, and yes, it has green, spiky hair. Why does it have green hair? No idea, but you have to admit it looks kinda cool, right?? 4. Gharial Let's talk now about one of the strangest and rarest animals in the world, from a family that you wouldn't expect to see on this list...a crocodile. Specifically the Gharial. 3. The Sun Bear Another type of animal you might not have expected to see on this list is a bear. Yet, there is one bear that most definitely qualifies, the Sun Bear. 2. Sphynx Cat I hate to break it to you but Sphynx cats didn’t originally come from Egypt. These cats are born hairless due to a genetic mutation and started getting bred on purpose in the 1970’s. 1. Platypus Ah, the Platypus, or as some call it "nature's reject". Why? Because this animal literally looks like it was sewn together by a mad scientist. Or as one cartoon depicted, God running out of ideas and just throwing something together. In my opinion, it's extremely cute! dear friends…nervously excited to share with you the video for Agnes. it’s hard to explain exactly how it feels inside a human centrifuge. you sit in a small egg-like pod about the size of a horse which hangs off a 50 foot steel horizontal frame. It looks like something out of a bond villain’s lair. it’s claustrophobic and uncomfortable and also incredibly hot. slowly the whole thing starts to rotate like a helicopter blade. Faster and faster until every part of you becomes crushed under the extreme gravity. its like being slowly sat on by an elephant, or like your whole body being punched in slow motion. you have to flex every muscle and use every ounce of strength you have to keep going. breathing requires serious effort. movement becomes incredibly strained and almost painful. everything that once weighed 5 kilograms now weighs 50. its difficult even to keep your eyes open. it hurts in places you really didn’t know existed. veins and capillaries burst under the pressure and bruising begins. its a rapid physical overdrive. the blood rushes from your brain making it impossible to think rationally or focus. your eyes are also drained and you get tunnel vision…only able to see small circles of the world directly infront of you and your sight goes completely greyscale…no more colour. your balance and spatial awareness goes and the world begins to spin like you’ve had way too much to drink. but the most striking thing is the way that the machine pulls on your heart. you can actually feel it struggling to beat and changing shape…flattening inside of your chest. Its similar to that horrible sinking, tugging heartache that comes only with complete and overwhelming sadness. and then you pass out. we ran the centrifuge 18 times while i tried to sing along to a song which i find difficult to listen to at the best of times. this was probably the most intense video-making experience I’ll ever have. But its the only way that we could just about begin to simulate for a moment what happens within Agnes. speak soon, dave ______________ Directed by Eoin Glaister Production company Agile Films Music video by Glass Animals performing Agnes. This British woman however was actually born in Colombia, and it is there that she claims to have had one of the most formative experiences of her life. When she was around 5 years old, she says she was kidnapped from her village then soon released in the middle of nowhere, though she was far too young to understand why or what exactly had happened. Even though she was free, her captors left her in the rainforest alone and confused. Marina would then follow a band of capuchin monkeys around the forest, imitating their behaviours to survive the harsh jungle. Living on a simple diet of roots and berries, Marina spent nights sleeping in the trees. Though the monkeys didn't fully accept her at first, Marina was clever enough to use the monkeys for protection and to stay fed by collecting scraps. As time went by, the monkeys accepted her and allowed her to sleep in the trees with them. Eventually, she says she was found by hunters who found her walking on all fours and unable to speak. Unfortunately for her, her life was just about to get worse. Instead of helping her, the men who found her sold her to a brothel in the nearby city for some quick cash. She escaped and lived as a street urchin and then was even enslaved to a family who belonged to the Colombian mafia, Marina would later write in her autobiography that it was a neighbor who took pity on her. The neighbor, Maruja, sent her to live with one of her children far away in Bogota. Marina eventually moved to Britain, where she still lives to this day. Even though it is an amazing story of survival, many have questioned her claims because of a lack of evidence, although it is hard to say what evidence there would be. Monkeys and brothels don’t keep very good records. Her favorite thing in the world is to groom her family. 7: John Ssebunya, Uganda Another turned survival story, John Ssebunya of Uganda’s adoptive family playfully calls him “the boy raised by monkeys”. When he was very young, John´s father murdered his mother and the young boy ran away, fearing he would be next. Fleeing into the jungle, the young boy met a group of vervet monkeys that offered him roots and nuts. Though they were at first afraid, the monkeys soon befriended John, and he learned to live as they did. They cared from him and kept him fed. They traveled together and John, the real life Tarzan, even slept in the trees just like the monkeys did. For up to a year, the child lived in the wilderness guided by his friendly primates. The area was in the midst of a and very few humans came to that part of the jungle. A local stumbled across him when searching for firewood. She had initially thought he was a monkey himself until his lack of a tail made her do a double take and so she brought him to her village for help. There John was teased and called monkey boy, but also had many tapeworms removed and other illnesses treated that the jungle had left him with. Many suspect he couldn't have survived in the jungle much longer. He had to get used to warm food again, as it would upset his stomach. His hunched appearance, long hair and sharp nails would eventually be changed to fit in with his new home in the village. He was adopted by a couple who are teachers and they are the first to make monkey jokes. Despite all he has experienced, John has found a place within society. However, he still shows many signs of his time with primates, such as avoiding eye contact or a different manner of walking because of his early influences. He has wonderful stories of the love the animals showed for him. 6. Victor of Aveyron In the late 18th century, a 12-year-old boy was discovered living in the forest in France. Perhaps the most famous case of “the noble savage”, or children raised by animals, the boy was discovered in the late 1790’s and was allegedly raised by wolves. These children were romanticized in folklore and stories such as The Jungle Book and Tarzan, but the reality of these feral children is much more bleak. Victor was taken in by many people but he would repeatedly escape and run back to the woods. 9 talented animals playing sports at a higher level than most humans Subscribe For New Videos! http://bit.ly/TVTube1 9 talented animals playing sports at a higher level than most humans 1. Twiggy the Water-Skiing Squirrel: In 1978, skating rink owners Chuck and Lou Ann trained a squirrel named Twiggy to water ski — as a joke. A year later, a boat show organizer booked the squirrel for a gig. Crowds loved him. Years later, Twiggy #4 — the great-grandson of the original squirrel trained to water ski in a bathtub — still captivated audiences. He even made appearances in the hit films Dodgeball and Anchorman. But he had competition… 2. Queenie the Water Skiing Elephant: Billed as the world’s only water skiing elephant, the Asian giant wowed audiences at county fairs and circuses in the 1950s and ’60s! “She thoroughly loved skiing,” her owner said. 3. Soaring Cindy Jumps: Owners Kathy Conroy and Kate Long of Miami, Florida, started training the greyhound’s strength, agility, and leaping skills just months after her birth. Soon, she had serious skills — but just how serious? Well in August of 2003, at just three years old, she attempted to break the Guinness World Record for highest jump by a dog, which stood at 63 inches. She jumped an incredible 66 inches…then jumped 68 inches three years later! 4. Triton the Lion: At the Johannesburg Zoo, spectators often gathered around to watch trainers toss a soccer ball into the lion den. There, an 11-year-old white lion named Triton waited to show the crowd his skills. With the ball in his enclosure, Triton turns into a playful kitten chasing down a ball of yarn. He earned himself the nickname Lion-el Messi because let’s face it, he definitely had the dribbling abilities to play forward for FC Barcelona. According to trainers at the zoo, Triton’s dedication to soccer trumped any need for friends. He always preferred playing with his ball over spending time with the 7 female lions in his enclosure! 5. Pisco the surfing alpaca: Peruvian surfer Domingo Pianezzi trained Pisco the alpaca to surf. Why? Well, “when I was at a competition in Australia,” he said, “I saw people surfing with kangaroos and koalas.” This made the champion surfer a bit jealous. “So,” he continued, “I thought that, as a Peruvian, it would be interesting to surf with a unique animal that represents Peru” — and no animal symbolized his country better than this furball. Domingo trained other surfing partners, too… Domingo taught children to surf and shredded waves in worldwide competitions, but he also made time to teach a dog, a parrot, a hamster, and a cat to surf, too! None of his other partners, though, were quite as skilled as Pisco! 6. Rosie the Ribbiter: In 1981, this jumping frog shattered the Guinness World Record for frog long jumping, nailing a 21-foot leap. Yep, she jumped about as far as a two-story building is tall. 7. Happie the Skateboarding Goat: In March 2012, this Nigerian dwarf cross goat rode her skateboard for 25 seconds straight, covering 118 feet before crashing into a parking barrier. This set the world record for “Farthest Distance Skateboarding by a Goat!” “She figured out how to get on [the skateboard] and then I was just like, ‘Whoa, this is amazing,'” Happie’s owner Melody Cooke said. So the 18-year-old trained her goat to ride the pavement by using treats. 8. Dog-Riding Monkeys: No NFL halftime show will ever amount to the magic of monkeys riding dogs. At times, these mysterious characters captivate crowds more than the games themselves… In 2015, for instance, during a horrendously boring Monday Night Football game between the Houston Texans and Cincinnati Bengals, dog-riding monkeys burst on to the field at halftime and herded goats. For the first time that night, the crowd went wild. 9. Norman the Scooter-Riding Dog: After this Briard learned to sit while waiting in the airport, his owner knew he was smart — so she trained him to ride a scooter. In 2013, he set the record “the fastest 30 meters on a scooter by a dog.” A year later, he set another… Yup, in 2014, Norman broke the record for “fastest 30 meters on a bicycle by a dog.” “Norman basically thought he was one of the kids,” his owner Karen said. “Whatever they did, he wanted to try.” He loved both the scooter and the bike. In 2017, however, the lovable canine faced a new challenge: cancer. But after raising $23,000 for treatment through GoFundMe, the unbelievable dog conquered that obstacle, too! By the end of the year, he was on the mend. animals, sports, humans, playing sports, animal, funny, try not to laugh, funny cat, wild animals, funny animal,2018,funny dog, cat, cats, pet, dog, compilation, pets, dogs, cute, funny animal videos, funny videos, fail, kitten, puppies, puppy, try not to laugh challenge, laugh, funny animals, funny cats, funniest, cute dogs, funny dogs, funny vines, funny video, funny videos 2018,cat videos, funny dog videos, fails, funny pet videos, dog 2018,funny fails, dogs funny, cute cat

#top10 #critically #animals #PETA #Knowable It’s very sad when animals amongst us go the way of the dinosaur. There is just no coming back from #extinction. And today, we share our world with a number of creatures facing that terrible demise. Here is a list of 10 critically endangered #animals. #10 . Though fairly rare to begin with, the Guam #Kingfisher bird continues to scale down in numbers. Its population was slammed harshly when a non-native snake was accidentally introduced to its habitat, and the number of Kingfishers surviving dropped to a scary 29. But a massive effort by the U.S. Government has rebuilt the population of the birds to about 130. Helping in the breeding efforts are the Philadelphia Zoo, the #Smithsonian National Zoo, the #Chicago Lincoln Park Zoo, the San Diego Zoo, #Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the St. Louis Zoo. #9 . There are only about 100 #Alabama Cavefish left. The few that are left can only be found in underground pools in northwestern Alabama and there are only nine species of the fish. This is the rarest of cavefish in North America and all freshwater fish. This blind fish uses sensors to feel its way about. #8 . At one time, the #Madagascar Pochard was thought to be extinct. But it was rediscovered in a remote part of Madagascar in 2006. But even with that, it’s not too far from being extinct. There are only 74 known individual birds in existence. Eggs have been collected and, with special care, chicks are being raised in a special facility by aviculturists and are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. #7 . The Vaquita is in critical #danger of extinction. This is rare species of porpoise. In 2014, its numbers dropped below 100 and now stand at 60. This #creature, though very limited in number, can be found on the northern part of the Gulf of #California. Officials say that unless something significant happens in conservation efforts, the Vaquita will be extinct within five years. #6 . There are now fewer than 60 Amur #leopards in the world today. They are native to southeastern #Russia and northeast China. Since 1996, it has been a critically endangered species. At one point, there were only between 19 and 26 wild Amur leopards. #5 . The Santa Catarina guinea pig has a total population of about 42. It is an island creature that is very vulnerable to hunting and #natural #disasters. They can reproduce when they are only a few months old, but its #population has diminished greatly since the rising of sea levels 8,000 years ago. #4 . There is some serious concern over the Hainan black-crested gibbon, as there are only 22 left before extinction. This gibbon is a species in China, where their numbers once flourished and covered nearly half of the country. There were more than 2,000 gibbons in Hainan Island in the 1950s. But now they are identified as critically endangered by the #International #Union for #Conservation of Nature’s #Red List. #3. There are only three Yangtze softshell turtles left in the world. They are in #China. The Suzhou Zoo in China is attempting to breed two of them. The last surviving female is 100 years old, and fingers are crossed that the breeding – through artificial insemination – will results in fertile eggs. In a recent attempt, 89 eggs were laid, but none were fertile. #2. The dwindling numbers of the northern white rhinoceros has put it squarely on the #Critically Endangered List, as there are only three of them left. While in greater numbers, the rhino was found in several spots in East and Central Africa. The remaining three are housed at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya and are protected by armed guards around the clock. #1 . Unfortunately, there is not much hope at all for the survival of the Ecnomiohyla (Ekk-Nom-my-o-hi-la) Rabborum frog. Only one of this species remains in existence today. Its demise may well have been caused by a bacteria that swept through its native land. The male frog, named Toughie, was survived by two other male frogs, but one was euthanized Feb. 17, 2012, due to failing health. Toughie resides at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. He will be the last of his kind. That’s all for today. Do you know of any other animals whose numbers are thinning out? If so, let us know in the comments below.
